School Safety and Health Advisory Council

The School Safety and Health Advisory Council (SSHAC) is a group of parents and staff members representing all EISD schools that studies relevant issues regarding the health and well-being of students and makes recommendations to the district.

SSHAC activities vary from year to year based on needs identified by Council members and the community. The SSHAC has been involved in promoting substance use prevention programs, promoting mental health and suicide prevention awareness, advising on health curriculum and requirements, and providing information on physical health and safety. The SSHAC also hosts an annual reception for community first responders.
