Eanes ISD, All Campuses Excel in State Accountability Ratings

Eanes ISD and all nine campuses achieved the highest rating of “Met Standard” in accountability ratings released by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). In addition, seven campuses achieved Distinction Designations in specific accountability measures. Scores for Eanes ISD and all its campuses significantly surpassed the minimum target score in all four of the below categories.

  • Student Achievement – Provides snapshot of performance across all subjects, for all students
  • Student Progress – Measures year-to-year student progress by subject and student group
  • Closing Performance Gaps – Emphasizes academic achievement of economically disadvantaged students and lowest performing racial/ethnic student groups
  • Postsecondary Readiness – Emphasizes importance of earning a high school diploma that provides students with the foundation necessary for success in college, workforce, job training programs or military

The four categories include a broad set of measures that provide a comprehensive evaluation of the entire campus or district. The numerical index score is based on a range from 0 to 100, while the Target Score is the score required to meet the standard on each index. See chart below for state, region, district and campus scores.

Campuses also had the possibility of earning “distinctions” in categories based on achievement on performance indicators compared to a group of 40 campuses of similar type, size and student demographics. In order to earn a distinction, the school had to be ranked in the top quartile of their comparison group. The following campuses were awarded distinctions, including Barton Creek Elementary, who earned all six distinctions:

  • Barton Creek Elementary - earned all six distinctions (Achievement in Reading/ELA, Achievement in Math, Achievement in Science, Student Progress, Closing Performance Gaps, Postsecondary Readiness (STAAR score))
  • Bridge Point Elementary - earned three distinctions (Achievement in Reading/ELA, Closing Performance Gaps, Postsecondary Readiness (STAAR score))
  • Cedar Creek Elementary - earned two distinctions (Achievement in Reading/ELA, Closing Performance Gaps)
  • Forest Trail Elementary - earned two distinctions (Achievement in Science, Closing Performance Gaps)
  • Hill Country Middle School - earned six distinctions (Achievement in Reading/ELA, Achievement in Science, Achievement in Social Studies, Student Progress, Closing Performance Gaps, Postsecondary Readiness (STAAR score))
  • West Ridge Middle School - earned four distinctions (Achievement in Reading/ELA, Achievement in Science, Closing Performance Gaps, Postsecondary Readiness (STAAR score))
  • Westlake High School - earned six distinctions (Achievement in ELA, Academic Achievement in Math, Achievement in Science, Achievement in Social Studies, Closing Performance Gaps, Postsecondary Readiness).
